Polly Suzanne Hodge-Olson, a cherished member of the Dexter and Ann Arbor, Michigan communities, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the age of 47. Her unexpected departure has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were fortunate to know her.
Born on February 28, 1978, Polly was a lifelong resident of Dexter, Michigan. She dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse at the University of Michigan Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her patients made her an invaluable member of the medical community. Colleagues remember her as a beacon of kindness and professionalism, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.
Polly’s impact extended beyond her professional life. She was deeply involved in her community, known for her volunteer work and active participation in local events. Her warm smile and generous spirit touched the lives of many, leaving lasting impressions wherever she went. Friends describe her as someone who could light up a room with her presence, always bringing joy and comfort to those around her.
A devoted family woman, Polly cherished her roles as a wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She is survived by her loving husband, children, parents, and siblings, all of whom she held dear. In honor of Polly’s life, a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, located at 3410 Broad Street, Dexter, MI 48130. A scripture service will take place during the visitation at 7:00 PM. The following day, Friday, May 30, 2025, a church visitation will occur from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6805 Mast Road, Dexter, MI 48103, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
Polly’s sudden passing serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with our loved ones. Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. As the community comes together to mourn her loss, they also celebrate the incredible life she led and the countless lives she touched.
